| Introducing the Drop in Centre Christmas Party | |
| | NEW - Pictures from the Drop in Centre Christmas Party 2005 | | The drop in centre Christmas party is our busiest meeting of the year and very hard work. This year we had around 180 street people attend with others being turned away. The first one and a half hours were filled with games, quizzes and special numbers by the street people and some of the volunteers. After that we sang a few Christmas carols in Tagalog followed by a 20 min simple gospel message for the adults and a separate meeting for the children. We were encouraged at how well people listened and continue to pray that God will work in their lives through the words they heard. There was then a special meal for everybody with fried chicken, noodles, rice and vegetables. At the end of the evening we prayed together and thanked God for all His kindness over the last year at the drop in centre. This was our third Christmas party and we are so grateful to God for all He has done for us over the last two and a bit years. As the street people left they were all given various bags of groceries containing rice, noodles, coffee, tins of food etc. There was also a special bag for the children with sweets, milk and vitamins. And on the way out there was also an ice cream for everyone. We want to say a big thank you to all those who sponsored the evening and also to all those who prayed for us. Organising 180 street people for 3 hours is not easy and we are thankful it all went well. Please continue to pray that God will bless this work and most of all that street people may come to find forgiveness of sins and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. | |
